Therapy for Children & Adolescents

Your child might have a hard time expressing their emotions to you, which can be very frustrating as a parent. At Insight Children & Family Therapy Center, our therapists offer services focusing on child growth and development.

One of the most valuable tools in child psychology is psychotherapy, and there are many different approaches. Depending on your child's age, state of mind, cognitive abilities, and other factors, the therapist might integrate play therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness therapy, or other approaches into your child's care. During their time with their therapist, they might focus on modifying certain behavior, helping them communicate, or helping adopt coping mechanisms.

Reasons to Pursue Therapy Include:

  • Anxiety

  • ADD/ADHD symptoms

  • Anger management

  • Depression

  • Self Harm

  • Relationship issues

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Pre-marital and Post-marital

  • Infidelity

  • Obsessive-compulsive behaviors

  • Trouble in school or/and at home

  • Experienced abuse or neglect

  • Life transition

  • Difficulty adjusting to a new environment

  • Loss of a loved one

  • Lack of social skills and interactions

Our Services

Our play therapy services are designed to speak to children in their own unique language: play. Play therapy can be used to address a number of difficulties such as ADHD, anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and trauma.

Family therapy can be essential for a family undergoing transitions such as divorce or separation, a big move, the death of a family member, etc. Let us help you learn how to cope together.

By working with our experienced therapists on a one-on-one basis, we aim to introduce you to the benefits of having a clearer understanding of yourself as a person as well as your motivations and emotions.

Some things are too hard to talk about. Art therapy helps children and adults alike explore their unconscious emotions through artistic expression.

Couple therapy involves confidential sessions where you and your loved one will have the opportunity to gain insight, hear and learn from each other—all with your therapist’s support and guidance

As your child grows and develops, your role as a parent typically changes as well, which can contribute to some confusion and possible friction in the relationship.
